Sheet Metal Bending - Various Processes Plus The Way It Operates


We are surrounded by items that are products of a method referred to as sheet metal bending. Most of us are not aware of what it is and how it operates. Bending is classified into three common varieties:

1. Coining

This is the best known sheet metal bending type employed by engineers and metalworkers. It takes a few materials like die and punch. 3. Bottom bending

This specific type of sheet metal bending has certain similar properties with coining and air bending. In this method, the punch pushes the workpiece down till it touches the bottom of the die. This movement will create a little spring-back position.

There are several types of devices and equipment used when performing this operation. The most popular of them all include the machine presses, bending brakes, and brake presses. These equipment come in different shapes, sizes, and prices. Expect to see some of them to be equipped with the simplest features that are perfect for simple and basic sheet metal bending work. However, those that possess high-end, complicated and modern features are also available on the market to large industries and plants that require huge quantities of products manufactured in a certain time frame.
